Iain McDonald – Director
Iain is a Director of Saffron Shores. His background is primarily in strategic planning and new markets development. He has held executive roles in the local services sector and the international Oil, Steel, Banking and Management Consulting industries in the Asia Pacific Region, North America and Europe.
In the banking industry, through an executive general management role, Iain led the development, planning and implementation of the organisation’s overall marketing effort through new products and markets development, customer service structures and standards, distribution analytics and strategy, pricing evaluation and product line profitability, and a wide range of communication, promotion and advertising platforms.
In the international oil industry, Iain’s main responsibilities were in market planning and analytics with a primary emphasis on the restructure of profitability targets and the associated organisational changes needed to make that happen.
While in the steel industry, through a head of marketing role, his main focus was on the realignment of production centre products and services to more effectively and efficiently meet existing and emerging market needs, whilst expanding the business’ capability in value added services.
Iain is a partner in an Asia Pacific consulting firm specialising in existing markets profitability and positioning, and new markets development.
Iain has also developed and run management training programs in strategic planning and market development in association with Harvard University, as well as with other Universities in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney.
Iain’s experience in new product and market development is relevant to some of the key challenges facing the aged, community and health care sectors and he is available as a sounding board to organisations dealing with strategic issues.
